No better time than now

by Simon Plenderleith

It's an exciting time for us here at Makitó Labs. We've got lots of big plans for the coming months. A move to Brighton is on the cards, as well as getting down to work on some web apps that we've had in the pipeline for a while. We don't have VC investment or big fancy offices, but we do have a real passion for what we do. We're looking forward to trying out new ideas, meeting new people and launching lots of great new websites and apps.

One of the things that we're planning to add to this site soon is The Lab. We'll be using it to share code and experiments, along with slides from talks that we've done at different events. We've learnt a lot from all the generous people on the web who've given their time and knowledge for free, and we want to help continue that open source ethic.

Amongst the busyness of running Makitó Labs, we're going to do our best to post something fresh up here every week. We want to share our thoughts on web trends, new technology and the journey as we grow our company. Hopefully you'll be inspired and perhaps you'll learn something new. We're planning to add comments once things are fully rolling so that we can get some lively discussions on the go.

We'll be at dConstruct conference in Brighton at the start of September, so if you're heading along give us a shout on Twitter as we'd love to have a chat over a pint or two.
